Biography

The Keats have come out kickin’ up country with their first single, “Handsome”, from their new album Free at Last – slated for release later this summer. With its catchy hooks and harmonies, the high energy track is about all those handsome guys who need more than their good looks to get the girl. “Handsome” was also a finalist in the prestigious 2010 International Songwriting Competition.

Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jolene & Sharlene Keats, continue to wow country music fans globally with their powerful blend of two-part harmonies and charismatic performances showcasing that distinct east coast influence. The darling duo has graced the stages of some of Canada’s biggest country music festivals including Big Valley Jamboree, Cavendish Beach Music Festival and others. Look for The Keats at this year’s Capital Hoedown in Ottawa.

The 2010 East Coast Music Award nominees for Best Country Recording, continue to catch the eyes and ears of industry insiders. They played the CCMA New Artist Showcase in 2010 and their video for “Give Me a Ring” rapidly became a regular feature on Canadian Country Music Television (CMT.ca)

In addition to their playful personalities and outstanding musicianship, The Keats are committed to their community at home and abroad. In 2008, they travelled to Afghanistan where they entertained our combat troops. And they have lent their voice to those who can’t speak for themselves - acting as spokespersons for the SPCA in a nationally broadcast television PSA.
