bluessmyth sets dates for Alberta

 

(Winnipeg, MB - August 12, 2009) Alberta blues and rock fans will get a chance to see one of Canada’s best live acts as bluessmyth has confirmed a bunch of dates for fans in its home province:

“bluessmyth: a thinking man’s rock band with a blues edge”

bluessmyth released its third album entitled Sola Gratia earlier this year. This riveting and introspective recording from the Canadian trio covers powerful issues like Hurricane Katrina, all while exploring intense emotions like reaching out in despair, soul searching, and finding redemption. The name of the group, bluessmyth combines the words blues and smyth (or smith) as the symbolic forging of the roots of blues music with heavy, metallic overtones, and gospel & soul influences.

Sola Gratia was produced by Mark Berry (Yes, Duran Duran, Carly Simon, David Bowie).

Alberta is the first province set for bluessmyth’s 2009/2010 tour, which will see the band perform across eastern and western Canada.

The dynamic of bluessmyth has evolved with new drummer Celene Yohemas on board. Meshing seamlessly with the solid, virtuosic funky bass lines of Jason Yaholkoski, and supporting soulful singer and guitarist Chris Yaholkoski, the new dynamic is a recipe for success.
