WESTMAN REGION RESIDENTS OFFERED VOLUNTEER SPOTS AT 2009 WCMA

(Brandon, April 3, 2009) – Brandon area residents are invited to a volunteer recruitment night for the Western Canadian Music Awards on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, starting at 7:30 p.m. The evening’s events take place at The 40 located at the Trails West Inn (210 - 18th Street North).

According to Brandon Host Committee liaison Erin Brown, the biggest benefit for potential volunteers is the chance to participate in western Canada’s largest music festival and awards ceremony. “Being involved in a prestigious event like this, that has never been to Brandon before, is a huge opportunity for everyone in the Westman region,” Brown says.

Volunteers are required to cover a minimum of two shifts throughout the four-day event, which takes place throughout Brandon from Sept. 17-20, 2009. The WCMAs honour the outstanding achievement of Western Canadian recording artists and industry talent.

Representatives from the WCMA and the Brandon Host Committee will be on hand to answer questions and generate interest in the event. Potential volunteers must be of legal age to enter the bar.
