Calgary’s Sillan & Young vie for two Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards
(Calgary, AB – January 25, 2010) Albertans have the chance to make jazz history by putting Wildrose Country’s own Sillan & Young into the top spot at the 2010 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards.
Online voting closes February 19, 2010, meaning there is less than one month for Albertans to get behind their hometown jazz heroes. Voting is open to the public.

The nomination is a rare feat for an exclusively western Canadian group whose profile is rising steadily. Sillan & Young has just been chosen by the Alberta Government to perform at downtown Vancouver’s Alberta House during the 2010 Olympics on February 26, 2010.
The Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards is well-recognized as Canada’s premiere tribute to smooth jazz artists – and is a joint venture of www.smoothjazznow.com and Wave 94.7 FM Toronto/Hamilton. Current and former nominees include Michael Buble, Michael Kaeshammer, Norah Jones, saxophonist Warren Hill and flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook.
The Sixth Annual Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards will take place Friday April 23, 2010 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
