Biography
Identical twin sisters, Lee and Paula Bowman, along with Julian Sammut and Simon Ross, have created bright and energetic music under the name Jetty Road for over six years.The four friends met while studying at music college and after a few years began writing and recording their own. Since 2005, Jetty Road has had four #1 singles on Australian radio and video channel charts over the past three years - plus a number of singles reaching the top five! The band cracked commercial radio in North America placing in the top 50 on Mediabase’s influential country radio chart during the summer of 2010.
Look for greater success on the North American charts in 2011 as the band has co-written songs with some of the biggest names in Canadian country music including, George Canyon and Jason McCoy to support the band’s upcoming fourth album. Jetty Road has created a buzz for itself in North America – playing main stage at the biggest country festivals on the continent. Jetty Road shared stages with Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn and Tim McGraw at WE Fest in the USA, Merritt Mountain Music Festival, Havelock Jamboree, Dauphin’s Countryfest and Big Valley Jamboree in Canada.
Furthermore, the band has performed in Nashville at the prestigious Aristo Media Global Artist Showcase during the annual CMA Music Festival. Jetty Road recently won “Group of the Year” at the 2010 Country Music Awards of Australia - the highest honour a country band can receive. In addition, the group has twice taken home the TIARA Award for Best Group (2008 / 2009) and the Victorian Album of the Year at the 2008 Victorian and National Country Music Awards.
